Career in Cyber Security
-
Hello,
I am wanting to pursue a career in cyber security. I currently have my A+, Network+, MTA Networking fundamentals, and Security+. I am preparing to take the CYSA+ this summer. But as Im watching the videos and reading books Im a bit overwhelmed with all the information. Where should I spend my time if I would like to become a pentester? I see so many resources online and just wanted to see what everyone's opinion on what to focus on would be. Thank you -

@Zac-Nixon my apologies that this slipped by me and hasn't been answered. You are familiar with CompTIA's testing style as you have passed other exams, which is a great starting point for CySA+. Here is my advice:
1 - Browse to the CompTIA CySA+ website and download the objectives
https://www.comptia.org/certifications/cybersecurity-analyst
2 - Use the exam objective domains to guide your studies. If you come to topics you already know then lightly breeze through these concepts while focusing your attention on to more difficult topics.
3 - The amount of information in your various resources, probably looks very overwhelming. Remember use those resources to guide your studies back to the objective list. You do not have to memorize all of that information, only look at a single objective block at a time (1.1, not the whole 1.0 Domain). You can do this, you have already passed these exams, you can pass this one!
