Is there a non-proctored version of the IT Fundamentals exam?
-
I was on the CompTIA website about to register for the IT Fundamentals exam and saw that there was an exam FC0-Z51: CompTIA IT Fundamentals Certification Exam - NON-Proctored version. On your overview of the course you didn't mention that there was a non-proctored version of the exam and so I just wanted to make sure that I was reading it correctly on the website. I would hate to pay for the wrong exam if I'm not reading it correctly. Thank you for your help!

David,
I don't know what a non-proctored exam means. If you're going to a Pearson Vue testing center. Before registering and paying the money for the exam. Make sure you understand, if there are any other implications (i.e. the non-proctored are for in house certification only). Usually non-proctored exams give you a chance to do an open book exam.
I only took the the official version of the exam which required me to go the Pearson Vue testing center. This is usually the method when the certification is meant to be recognized beyond the organization.
