Any advises regarding my Learning path (OSCP, CRTO)
-
Hello guys :) ,
I would like to ask you for some guidance regarding my goals. I would like to take the path of Red Team operator but first i wanna master all the basics for my own good. My goals are OSCP, CRTO etc. How do you think i should start my journey? I really enjoy learning and practicing at the same time :) The ideas i had in my mind was to start with Comptia A+ then Network+ ,Security + and then Linux +. But i dont know if this is going to take a long time.
I am currently working in a company with a very big IT potential ( i am working at Customer Service Department) but they push us a lot to move into departments and find our ideally Job. :)
I really enjoy the idea of moving to Information Security Department but their bare minimum level is OSCP or something similar.
From the next week i ll inform my Supervisor about my Goals and i am thinking of sending a CV & Cover Letter to Information Security Department just for visibility and lets hope for an interview as well.
Last but not least, the company that i work in has up to 120 IT Vacancies for the guys that they already have some experience :). I can share the link if you want too.
Thank you for your time and i am sorry for my English and the long message, i hope all of you to have a beautiful day.

Hey Antonis,
So you're looking to get into Red Teaming...NICE! It's super fun and there's always new things to learn. Looks like you're working for a great company and that will be to your advantage as the entry-level market is a bit saturated at the moment.
You've got a solid plan by going for your CompTIA certs and then jumping over to something like OSCP. I'd make sure to pick up Python and some web-app specific skills as well. I couldn't begin to give you a time-frame of about how long that would take as every person is different and learns at different rates. And you never know, your company might even go ahead and hire you on to the security based on your passion alone! But I personally wouldn't focus on how long it does or doesn't take you to pick up the requisite skills. Just start the learning process and enjoy picking up fun skills and keep applying along the way.
As for those job postings, absolutely YES! Please drop that link here! I'm certain there are those here in the forums that would love to apply to an awesome company.
Thanks and have a great day!
Daniel
