What Path to take for the MS 365 Security Administration MS-500
-
Hi :
I would like to know if the MS 365 Security Administration MS-500 worth taking?? As per my research that the MS-500 has just recently retired? June 30th 2023?
As per the Microsoft certification path or track you need the SC 900, then the SC 200 or SC 300 then the SC 400 before even trying for the MS-500 (MS-365 Security Administration).
I am somewhat interested in the Cybersecurity track or path, but I watch a few videos on YouTube and Udemy, but I searched on IT Pro TV Legacy Videos and found this one called Microsoft 365 Security Administration MS-500 with Adam Gordon. which really goes into details about the Azure Portal and AD and AD Directories within the Azure portal.
Some of the videos are bit overwellming? but is this content or material actually worth it to become a Security Administrator or SOC Analyst I ?
I think I have taken some courses on Udemy SC-900 with Scott Duffy but not completed yet.
Will there be a replacement for this Certification?? any suggestions is welcome

This exam is retiring as you've said, there has not been a replacement exam announced, yet. This is the Office 365 equivalent of the AZ-500 Azure Security Technologies. Both exams were rather "beastly" in scope. This exam was primarily focused on the Microsoft 365 Administrator and not so much for the SOC Analyst.
I would do some searching on what you'd like to see in the realm of SOC roles. It can range widely. start there and then come back and see what we have that will fit that pursuit.
