Out of date content - CompTIA A+ Core 2 (220-1102)
-
This is more of an observation than anything, but the video content for the CompTIA A+ Core 2 (220-1102) is out of date. Have the practice tests and other study aids been updated to align with the current exam objectives?

Hey @Jonathan-Moe thank you for the question. The A+ 1102 content uses current objectives. One thing that does differ a little is the structure of the lessons as the order of objectives may not be an appropriate order to teach the concepts. You will most likely seen the arrangement differs. We make every attempt to use current objectives from CompTIA. As an example, there is a note in the CompTIA A+ 220-1102 (Core 2) 7.0 objectives that says Windows 11 was not in mainstream support at the time of the objectives, however required for the exam. We decided included Windows 11 content to prepare the students for the upcoming release of Windows 11 into the A+ 220-1102 (Core 2) exam. Now that being said, technology updates so quickly I may have overlooked a concept. Do you have a specific objective that you have noticed is out of date? As we will be sure to include this is future updates and new CompTIA courses! Thank you again for the feedback. -
Thanks for the response Wes. What caught my attention was the difference between Big Sur and Sanoma.

@Jonathan-Moe that is a great point! I was so focused on Windows and Ubuntu. You are correct. This is something that we will incorporate into our upcoming releases. Also, this would include a focus on iOS/iPadOS, Android as well as macOS. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Hi Wes, I'm watching your A+ course with Ronnie and like the OP states/asks, I had some of the same observations.
Watching the A+ content I couldn't help but snicker a little bit when NetBIOS was discussed. I've completely removed/disabled it in our environment because it's a security best practice, so why is it being discussed in a CompTIA course. When I took a practice test, one of the questions mentioned Windows XP! Granted, the question had nothing to do with the OS, it was just setting up the question, but still...C'mon CompTIA, it's 2024!
Please understand, this is not a criticism of the content, you two are great!
I guess our musings should be directed at CompTIA.Thank you,
Rob
