CompTIA A+ Flash Card Question Concerns
-
Hello everyone!
I am currently pursuing my CompTIA A+ certification. I have background building multiple PC's and above average IT knowledge working in tech distribution. I am currently on the (220-1101) section and have done Mobile Devices and Troubleshooting Hardware and Networks.
I decided to test my knowledge and do some flashcards on only those two topics. I found that many of the flashcards have questions that were not even mentioned within the videos. During the videos I not only reviewed the downloadable notes but also took my own.
Am I the only one experiencing this disconnect between the material covered in the videos and the actual exam questions? It is a little discouraging only getting 20-30% correct on my first pass, and the other 70-80% I have never even heard of. Am I missing something?

@Thomas-Grimaldi great question and your concern is one that we see often. The practice exams are there to expand your knowledge beyond a book, video training and classroom lessons. There are many students or members that get those same scores on a first or second pass. The goal of the practice exam is to gauge where your base knowledge is and which domain or domains you should direct your attention to. The individual questions are presenting a topic or concepts that if you get wrong, you should study more. This is the best approach as you do not want to take a bunch of the practice exams but take the results and focus on the domains you need to bring up your base knowledge. We are here to help with any topics you need help with. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks Wes, that would make sense! Actually understanding the fundamentals and concepts and then applying them rather than knowing test questions through memorization/repetition. I suppose I'll push on with the grind and give it my best shot.
I will say I am enjoying the content, very entertaining and good info
