1st episode clarification help please

Hello, I just started the CompTIA A+ course, and on the first episode there is something i quite dont understand, the instructor in a blue shirt when talking about HDD/SSD's says and I quote from the transcript " So for instance, I have this is the traditional spinning HDD solid state drive and you can see it's a serial 80A connection here." Is an HDD the same as an SSD? Also what is an 80A connection? From what I have researched online it looks like a breaker but i dont think thats a component that can fit inside a laptop. Very cofusing episode just hope someone can help me understand this thanks.

Hey @Felipe-Botella, great question! It looks like the transcript may have an error. At 12.10 in the video, you will see the transcript output "serial 80A,' and this should be "Serial ATA" or "SATA". In that portion of the video, the context is this, 2.5-inch HDDs and SSDs use the same 7-pin Serial ATA or SATA data connectors. The laptop's SATA drive will connect to a drive encloser's connection, and the HDD commonly has a cable with a 7-pin connector. Then, next is the fact that how these two drive types (HDD/SDD) store data differently. HDD = magnetic, mechanical components/SSD = electrical, non-mechanical s components. I hope this helps, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey @wes-bryan thank you so much for your explanation! So after reading your comment and looking back at the video it makes perfect sense now just was a bit confused by the typo on the transcript
