Cloud Security in Cyber Security
-
Good morning ITprotv community:
The reason I am posting this in Security is to make a suggestion to Cyber Security enthusiastic like myself. I work in an MSP company. Recently they opened a Security Analyst position. I hold my CompTIA triad for a very long time and I am an IS engineer. I got an interview and even tho I am strong in Networking, when it came to Azure and Identity Access Management I was weak. My suggestion to all cyber enthusiastic, take a look into IAM and Intune here at ITpro.tv May I have had that knowledge I could have been selected for the position. Thankfully now I know and after going trough that training I could be a better candidate in the future.

Good advice @Victor-Rosa!
I am on the hunt to move into cybersecurity and getting some of my fundamentals out of the way. I've been an IT professional for 15+ years but that has mostly been on the helpdesk in EDU and now for a Google Workspace/GCP MSP. I started on my Linux+ journey last night with Sec+ and Net+ next. I think after I complete these certs I will then focus on some Azure/AWS certs.
I could work on my GCP certs since the company I work for is specialized in it. But, what I've seen is when people at my company gain more skills with GCP they get more work but not more pay.
EDIT: Just wanted to add, I already have my A+ and Server+ certs hence the going straight to what I mentioned above.

@Andrew-Despres You are very welcome. Like Daniel once said. "If you can't go straight trough, take a detour". In my opinion, Cloud Security is new way to break into Cyber Security. Unless you create a big network of people inside the industry.
