Mac Management Basics 10.11 - Updates

Near the end of the lecture, Wes asked Don about a scenario. If one were to give away 100 machines from the network, how would one turn of the connection to server. Don said, "Delete the preference." I'm kind of mixed up on what the preference is and where to find it. Please help

Remember that Don set up a Mac OSX Server first and connected his desktop to it. When doing, it gave some additional options to the client under updates.
These updates are located under the appstore in system preferences but you can
navigate to the /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate and delete the file. Even so, he mentions a better way to do this later in the episode
