After just having watched the Printers episode in 10.11 integration...

I listened to Don say something about the Bonjour/ AirPrint protocol, in that it does not do well outside of its own network (can't go through routers/firewalls, etc). That being said, that made me think about a typical SOHO setup where you have an AirPrint capable printer and a SOHO router that may boast having a 2.4G subnet, and a 5G subnet.
So....how well would the printer do if it is on the 2.4Ghz network, and many other devices (perhaps newer/more modern) are on the 5G network requesting print jobs using this protocol.
Does this work cleanly, or is there a clean path after all that will communicate well? Thanks,
Derek

When you say a 2.4GHz and 5 GHz subnet, do you mean that you have specifically put devices on two different subnets? Or do you mean you have devices connecting via the 2.4GHz standard and some devices that use the 5 GHz standard to connect to the SOHO. If the latter is the case then these devices are on the same IP-based network, they are just using different physical media (2.4GHz,5GHz) to connect.

Completely understood.
See this is why humans are supposed to sleep at night.
It saves them from these kind of moments in life....
Thank you for the eloquent reply.
You guys rock

You are welcome, I go through days like that all time, where I am like "OK I should know this". Sometimes it helps to walk away for a second and then dive back in lol!
