Update to CompTIA CASP-003 - Current version is outdated (currently CASP-001)
-
When will the CompTIA CASP be updated to the latest version? Currently, it is for 001; now CompTIA has released 003. Can someone from ITProTV let us know how often current courses will be updated? It does us little good if you all can't keep up with the most current version of the exam. There are many other alternatives to training and while I enjoy ITProTV, if the content is not relevant to my requirements, then I will need to seek my training elsewhere.
-
Thanks for watching! Actually, our current version is CASP-002 available here https://itpro.tv/course-library/comptia-advanced-security-practitioner-2016/overview70720/ and this test is valid until 10/2/18. With more and more options for security training certifications, we are discussing whether the CASP-003 is the most helpful option for our members. We will be recording PenTest+ this summer as well as CEHv10 and other more practical security courses.

You stated that the newest CASP (003) is under review. I was wondering if a decision has been made if it will be produced? I would hope it is seen as important, since it is on the DOD 8570 list as approval for IAM III, IAM II and IA SAE II level qualifications. If not, do you see this as a downward popular or lower viewed certificate?

@angie Thank you for updating the content. I have been subscribing to ITProTV since close to the beginning and have used it for several certifications. It is my "go to" training platform when I'm on the go. I download the videos or audio and watch or listen depending on my situation. I listen to episodes in my car to and from work. I take a 30-minute walk every day and listen. When I am home, I watch the videos and take notes. As I mentioned, there are other training options out there, but none of them seem to have what you offer - a consistent method of providing IT training that is also entertaining. I only wish I had something like this when I first started out in IT. Back in the 90's...all we had was Barnes and Noble's IT Certification section - I've read my share of 800 page books for certification tests...your delivery method is much kinder and more effective for me.
Please keep generating updated content as it is critical to success on these certification exams. Thanks ITProTV! Good luck to my fellow subscribers in their career and certification goals - you can do it - you have everything you need right here.

@brock-frary With other training options, we really appreciate you choosing ITProTV. We do our best to keep our certification content updated. Thanks for watching!

Hi ITProvTV,
I see a few replies to this post stating "beginning of the year" (2019) for the release of the update CASP-003. We are now a couple of days away from March and I cannot seem to find any updates to this content. When will the CASP be updated? Do you have it on the roadmap? Any dates you can share? Thanks as always!
Regards,
Brock -
Hi to all,
We have delayed the updating of the CASP-003 content due to some issues with getting the lab environments to be setup accurately, so that they align with and support the objectives for the 003 exam.
We are working through that process behind the scenes, and are hoping to have it all sorted out sometime in the next few weeks, meaning most likely by end of March, 2019.
Once that is all set, tested, and is ready to go, then I will be in the studio shooting the new show. Please let us know if you have any additional questions in the meantime.
Cheers,
Adam

@Adam-Gordon Thanks Adam - looking forward to the course!

Out of curiosity, what is the difference between the two CASP courses listed under Legacy Courses?
The description for both of them says they cover CAS-002.
-
@James-Parsons The CASP version headlined by Adam is a more thorough version. Adam is now working with Practice Labs on the newest release of CASP. Our plan is for him to start recording in April.
-
I am very eager to see this one published and have been very patiently waiting...and hoping it will be released. I know you all need to vet the class and Adam is working hard in the background. Any kind of ETA you can share with us?

Brock,
I hope all is well. It will not be too much longer. :)
The lab platform is just about ready. I am in the middle of another show, Microsoft Exchange, which I will finish by the end of May. I am out at some conferences till the middle of June, and then we should be able to get started on CASP !!
Assuming all goes well, we will be shooting the CASP show starting at the end of June and through July.
I will be happy to answer any questions that you have as you are studying in the meantime, so feel free to be in touch as needed. My direct e-mail is: adam@itpro.tv
Cheers,
Adam

@Brock-Frary @Senior-Team We have been working with our partner Practice-Labs to create the virtual lab Adam can use in this course. Based on those and Adam's schedule we should have the content on the site by July. We will add the episodes as they produced. We know it will be great content and we want to get this created and available as soon as we can. Thanks for watching!

@Adam-Gordon @Angie
Thank you both for the swift reply. "We" (your community) are just eagerly awaiting this course! As you know we are hungry for knowledge and the experts at ITProvTV are the knowledge leaders we follow. OK, then July it is - hopefully, nothing further will prevent the release of these episodes. Keep up the good work folks!Regards,
Brock -
Just wanted to check in and find out if the update is still targeted for July or not. Just passed the CySA+ and need to proceed to the CASP+ to round out some needs for our company.

Thank you ITProTV for updating the CASP+ episodes! I just watched the first episode with Wes and Adam!! Excellent as usual. Keep up the good work!
