My CompTIA A+ cert due to expire in July this year, but I am currently studying the MCSA 687, will my CompTIA A+ certificate automatically renewed upon passing my exam MSA 687/688 Exam? Or will need to enroll the Continuing Education Program to renew my A+ cert?
Thanks,
Hassan -
Hassan,
CompTIA A+ exam will have to be renewed separately. Passing your 70-687/688 from Microsoft will give you another certification but does not renew the CompTIA A+ exam.
If you were though to have also earned the CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+, then by earning those they do renew the CompTIA A+ certification too.
This is because of who the certification authority is. Microsoft is a Vendor, they choose what to do. Even if Microsoft were to recommend that earning the MCSA in Windows 8 SHOULD renew the A+, it doesn't mean that CompTIA another certification authority will do so. So each certification authority tend to do what they choose.
Cordially,
