Most conservative video option for data capped users?
-
Hi all, love the site.
I live in a rural area and am limited in ISP choices to one satellite provider. This provider has a 15 gig limit on data per month during the day and another 15 gig off-peak, so I'm really stuck on the amount of video I can watch.
In order to view as much content as possible on this site I'd like to know if your ScaleEngine SD or Vimeo SD the better option for me, to keep my data usage as low as possible?
Keep up the great work. -
Leigh,
Hello, glad you contacted us. I'm in the same situation that you are living in a rural telecom blackhole, I have to have satellite which gives me about the same limits.
The vimeo stream are smaller but they are still sizeable.
If you're an annual user, you can also do what a lot of us that are facing caps do which is to download stuff while were here at work or at another location so that we can watch it without worry about the limits. It's not ideal it is though the most comprehensive way to get the material.
Cordially,
