David,
The ITProTV team congratulates you on that achievement! We're glad to have been apart of your program of study and thanks for mentioning it here to encourage others to pursue this outstanding certification in the field of IT Security!

Many congratulations David, that's a great achievement! You can name your price once you've completed that endorsement process ;)
I keep umming and ahing about whether to go for it or not and your success using the itpro.tv materials has, I think, just swayed me to make it an objective for the year. Thanks!

Nice job David congrats!

Congrats! - I'm in the process of studying for the exam as well. I've nearly finished reading Shon Harris' "Tomb book" and although I've watched the ITProTV videos for CISSP once, I'm going through them again in a lot more detail.
What scares me about CISSP is I'm not totally sure about the level of detail I need to know all the elements to. After reading Shon's book I've not come across anything I didn't already have some level of understanding. My weakness is the ISO XXX and BS stuff, and some of the Enterprise Models. It's not something I use day today.
I'm thinking of buying the official book which is out now, written by Adam himeself. Don't know if anyone has already read that yet?

Took the "new" CISSP test today and passed first try! ITPro.TV, you guys rock! Thanks for all the hard work you all do putting together such great content and making it easily accessible!
I will say that the first few questions on the test had me on edge even though I prepared like crazy for this. In short, expect the test to throw you for a loop no matter what you do. The ITPro.TV videos do work well for the new domains/test.
My method(s) and madness: (I studied a lot since I don't like wasting cash)
- Study for and Take Security+ (Also on ITPro.TV)
- Watch CISSP videos on ITPro.TV (I didn't take it seriously this first round since I thought I knew it all; this hurt on the next step)
- Take a practice test (The ISC2 questions are worth paying for to let you know your weak areas)
- Consider a local course course as a supplement (I needed it since I had so many weak areas, you may not need this)
- Watch the ITPRro.TV videos again (pay attention this time, and realize how good they really are)
- Last minute study of 11th Hour Study Guide (Old, but concise and easy to read; serves as a solid memory aid)
- Review previous practice test questions the night before (If you still have money left, get more ISC2 questions)
- Take the test and pass!
For those with access to FedVTE, do not even bother...they suck.
Adam, Don, and Mike, THANK YOU AGAIN! The lessons you all provided are effective, fun at times, and seriously high quality instruction. Keep it up!

Christopher,
Congrats from the ITProTV team! What a great achievement that will only reap benefits way into the future for you!
I appreciate you listing your successful study habits for your fellow ITProTV members. I think it's stuff like this that helps more than any of us can ever know.

I've been studying for the CISSP for a while now, and was feeling like I was getting close to ready to go take it, but wanted a practice test to gauge any areas of weekness I should work on. I went to the ISC2 site to see if they recommended anything for that, and was surprised to see only 8 domains and them not all to be named the same. Does anyone know if the exam content has been significantly altered from what was presented on ITPro.tv with the 10 domains? Also, if anyone had other suggestions about where to get a practice test for this exam, let me know. Thanks for the tip on not using Fed VTE to study. I had just been considering it. ;-) Thanks guys!

The current content we have was recorded with Adam Gordon, who is the current editor of the newest ISC2 offering for preparing for the CISSP exam. Adam recorded it mind with the new exam changes in mind.
Because the new objectives were not yet published, he couldn't disclose the new objectives but instead recorded the new content under the current offering. So, the content is sufficient coverage of the objective areas on the new exam.
But we are likely going to be recording content for the new CISSP because the changes to the exam coverage are causing more and questions like this. I do know it's being planned but I do not have a timeline on when that will be happening. Don't be surprised when you see it on our show calendar, maybe even before the end of the year!

For anyone sitting on the sidelines and wondering if the course here on ITPro is worth taking, trust me because I took the official course from ISC2 that cost $2495 and taught by Adam Gordon. Adam is the guest host for CISSP along with Don and Mike. When comparing the two, I actually think there is more content provided on ITProTV

@John-Donald
Thanks! You will be happy to know that Adam Gordon will be back in our studios the week of December 14th to reshoot CISSP to better align the format with the most recent objectives.
