CASP + (CAS-004)
-
Hi,
I recently attempted the CompTIA CASP+ (CAS-004) exam. Unfortunately, my first attempt was unsuccessful. I’m hoping to get some input from the instructors that teach that course on how I should interpret my exam result output to guide my continued studies. My questions are related to how the simulation is weighted on the exam and represented in the exam objectives. Is the simulation weighted such that if I did not answer it correctly I will fail regardless of my performance on the scenario-based multiple-choice? If I did not execute the simulation correctly will that be tied to specific exam objectives on my exam report? Or, if I was unsuccessful in the simulation will I fail a majority of the exam objectives?

@Taylor-Armstrong , I hope all is well. Short answer here to your question, but feel free to be in touch directly if you would like to discuss further.
While it is hard to say definitively, as CompTIA does not publish specific guidance that indicates one way or the other, it is fair to assume that it would be very hard to pass an exam that has Performance Based Questions without getting some of them right.
The PBQ's/scenarios are tied to exam objectives, as are ALL of the questions in some way. The PBQ's/scenarios are usually tied to exam objective sections that start with "Given a scenario..."
