Please help !! Will my laptop work for downloading Linux and Ubuntu

Hi so I'm taking the Linux essentials course and in the installation part they give a list of websites that list the laptops that will be compatible for installing and running Linux and Ubuntu. but my laptop is not mentioned on the list does this mean I need to buy a new laptop ?
I'm mostly interested in learning about Linux and cyber security
So I know I'll need a laptop that will be compatible for all of this I have an azur switch alpha running Windows 10.
Please help me I'm a complete newbie and really interested in learning more about I.T

@Cassandra-Turner, great question, and when it comes to Linux distributions there is no guarantee that they will be compatible, but do not let that stop you from trying. If you make a Live CD or a bootable USB media, you can run the Linux distro without installing it. For example: https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/try-ubuntu-before-you-install#1-getting-started
You could also consider running virtualization software such as VirtualBox: https://www.virtualbox.org/ and then install the Linux distro in a virtual machine and it will not interfere with your local computer. These are a couple of the steps you could try to help yourself in your studies.

@Cassandra-Turner Are you planning on taking the Linux Essentials exam too? If you are, I'd recommend going with @wes-bryan's virtual machine suggestion.
There's two main families of distro in the Linux world - Red Hat based, and Debian based - you'll want to have a play around with both types as they'll both come up on exams, and you'll meet them both in the real world. Don't worry, they're very similar - just a few subtle differences which can catch you out without a bit of experience. Running them as a VM would make it easier to quickly switch between the two.
If cybersecurity is your area of interest (especially if you're interested in something like pentesting) you're going to spend a lot of time working with virtual machines, so getting familiar with setting them up and using them is an excellent time investment ! :)
