GSEC and Possible Missing Material in GSCE Course
-
I've taken a practice GSEC exam and the material in the ITProTV courses I believe was possibly lacking in the GIAC GSEC area, at least what I saw much of on the practice exam. I probably can't go into specifics but that was the general feeling while taking the GSEC practice exam. I kept thinking I don't recall any mention of this in any of the video course on ITProTV.
Also worthy to note that there are no labs for the GSEC course. Is that by request of GIAC? I hope not, that would be... rude.. haha. As a good part of the test is hands on, (what they call 'CyberLive' where you actually have a hands on terminal and VM you work with), I think not having a labs section is a very important lacking area here on ITProTV. The Labs very much helped me in my COMPTia exams.
I love ITProTV! To be clear this is not a complaint but rather an attemp to help with constructive feedback. : )
I took the GSEC (You know, that test where everyone uses open book, indexes, and tons of notes and things?) and without any notes or assistance what-so-ever got 64% (73% required to pass) on my first practice exam attempt. Still very difficult however.

Hey, @Brian-Turney
Thanks for letting us know your experience with the GIAC GSEC exam. The ITProTV course was based off of the exam objectives published by the GIAC website, so if we missed an objective, please let us know. That said, GIAC intentionally makes the objectives relatively vague which leaves us to make 'best guess' about the details of what is being covered.
Thank you so much for your constructive input as we always strive to make the best training content possible and good feedback always help in that endeavor.
Cheers,

@Brian-Turney Hi Brian. Just to be clear, the practice exam that you are referring to, was it the one included in the ITPRO.TV course? or the one from SANS? Thank you.
