about the ethernet switching video in network+

I saw Ronnie was using the terminal to set up his ethernet trunk and vlans. But I also remembered he mentioned cisco. Do I need to take the ccna to learn about these specific processes or can I practice these types of things regardless of cisco?

If you devices supports remote access via telnet or SSH, you can do it via IP address...it doesn't have to be Cisco devices.
- look at documentation to see what you must do, if possible, to enable either protocol on your devices.
- Make sure device has an IP address and that you can ping that IP address.
- From your terminal e.g, puTTY or terminal, iTerm, etc. verify you know how to issue the commands you need "to Telnet into..." or "to SSH into..." that device.

Thank you for the answer ronnie! I'll narrow my search to routers and modems that can support these protocols. I just started learning it and networking stuff. So I'll have to go get my own soon to try some home networking of my own!
