Types Of Work Of A+ & Network+ Passers
-
I would like to know what are the immediate types of work that someone who passed the A+ & Network+ exam can look forward to specifically the A+. There are 2 types that come to mind from me. One is help desk where someone works in an office & troubleshoots software problems of the worker's computer. This is primarily of a customer service orientation. And the other is computer repair technician, where someone installs RAM, CPU, replaces the power supply, etc. Usually they work at a Best Buy or a computer store. Those are the only types of jobs that come to mind when I think about A+. Can anyone else in this forum come up with other types of jobs for A+ & Network+ holders? So far I'm doing well in the practice exams & I plan on taking both exams later this month. Wish me luck!

Ponciana,
You're in the right place, there are several subscribers that have passed both of those exams using our content along with their own study materials too!
The A+ and Network+ certification validate knowledge that comes from experience. A+ is equivalent to someone who has worked in the IT field for 6 months the Network+ is equivalent to someone who has worked int the field for 9-12 months etc.
So the types of jobs do seem to be the entry level and Tier 1 support of most companies. These types of jobs are the great jobs in the fact that you're working with the "safety net" of others who are more experienced and can provide some real practical work that will lead to more responsibility and management later on.
But I believe you're the right track. But saying that, you might sign onto a company and find yourself int the deep end immediately and you'll be the network admin!
