CompTIA ITF+ Outdated?
-
Hello all,
I'm gearing up for the ITF+ Exam and pondering whether the course's release back in 2018 should be a cause for concern. Technology has evolved notably since the FC0-U61 release, and while ITProTV courses are beneficial, I'm debating whether it's prudent to wait.
Despite breezing through mock/practice exams with an 80% score, indicating that complexity isn't a hurdle, I intend to build a solid foundation and progress upwards with certifications.
Do you reckon it's still worthwhile to pursue the exam? Any insights, thoughts, or reservations would be greatly welcomed.

I've heard many people say, if you struggle a bit with some of the topics in the A+ objectives (such as USB types/speeds, display types - VA, TN, IPS), then it's good to acquaint yourself with the foundational topics on the ITF+ (can't hurt, right?). Maybe try an A+ quiz and see how you do. Gauge your score and your understanding of the topics against "Do I need to work more on the foundational topics?" and go from there.

@Wyatt-Major,
My apologies for this slipping through. The FC0-061 course is not about technology changes but fundamental encounters you will have working in the world of IT. It is more like a sampling of what you might face in certain popular job related roles in IT, so you can explore different areas to your liking. So the skills and tasks are absolutely transferable into a real world IT related career path.As far as the certification goes, there is a new one launching to replace this and a new title we believe that is coming out this year: from CompTIA ITF+ to CompTIA TECH+. It is the next iteration of this same exam. We are looking into developing this.
