Networking & secutity Pathway
-
Hi,
I want to start my career in networking and security.
By now I have completed Networking fundamentals & security fundamentals, what should I start next? Should I start with CCNA or Cisco CyberOps or Network+ & what do I do after that?
I'm looking for a pathway.Thanks

Hi @SHRISH-JHA,
The CCNA will go through how to actually configure Cisco hardware. The downside with this is that it will be vendor specific, but, most networking vendors today more or less copy what Cisco does. If you can configure a Cisco switch, you can configure others fairly easily.
The Net+ is not vendor specific, but it is a highly theoretical certification. This means that you will learn a lot of information, but you won't necessarily know how to go ahead and configure a network fully.
I have been working on and off on the Net+ for over a year and I am at the point where I feel that I need to shift to something more specific like the CCNA so I think I will make that jump after I'm done my AZ800/801 course.
I hope my perspective helps. I'm sure the folks at ITPro will be able to help with their perspective as well.
