Newly A+ Certified! (not a question, just a comment)
-
Just a note of THANKS to Don, Ronnie (the dancing king), Daniel, Wes, Nate et al for all the many hours of A+ instruction. I recently passed the 802 exam (not without a few beads of sweat!) and just received my official Certification from Comptia - BOOM!
On to Network+ N10-006!
Keep up the great work guys and thanks again.

ITProTV team congratulates and celebrates with you! Thanks for the kudos!
Do you mind also posting here what your methods of study and how you used ITProTV as part of your success. I believe that will help other ITProTV members to know how others have prepared successfully for the exam.
Cordially,
Ronnie Wong

I too would like to know your methodologies upon using this website!

Sorry to take so long to reply, guys.
My approach:
First, I read Mike Meyer's A+ Exam Guide all the way through.
Next I subscribed to ITProTV, and purchased the Comptia CertMaster Bundle (voucher and study software: they give a free 2nd voucher if you don't pass the first time)
Starting with the 801 material:
For each exam objective, I first watched the ITPro episode(s), then worked through the corresponding CertMaster section. (If I needed further explanation, I went back to Meyer's book).
I basically followed this procedure twice through. Then, the last week prior to the exam, I worked through the practice tests (1 exam included with Meyer's Book, then the practice tests included with ITPro subscription). Once I reached 90 % mark with practice tests I scheduled the REAL EXAM, took and passed 801 in JanuaryI followed this procedure again with the 802 exam, took that in May and passed.
I know this seems like a long time between exams, but I was completely new to IT studies, so I really had no experience before picking up Meyer's book.
I definitely needed the time to absorb all this new material (I have also been learning Python with some courses from Coursera and EdX).Thanks again for the great shows (over 90 hours for the whole A+ is a mountain of material).
Peace,
William

Hey folks! Old thread, new post.
I took and passed both A+ core1 and 2 tests this week 220-1101/1102.
I've been a computer enthusiast since my Commodore Vic-20 days back in 1985, held a few IT jobs from mainframe tape monkey in 1987, to network administrator in 2001. I took a detour and did Navy Electronics for a 20+ year career.
I'm now preparing to re-enter the IT industry concentrating in cybersecurity. I decided to start off with some certifications to validate the skills I have developed over the course of many years beginning with A+. Next on my itinerary is Network+, having previously obtained my CCNA in 2001, but long expired, as further validation of existing knowledge.
Phase II will be Security+ and CySA+ to show my aptitude for cybersecurity and land me my (re)entry-level job in a SOC. I have already purchased vouchers for all of these exams to force myself into a deadline frame of mind. Additionally, I am enrolled in INE's eJPT course which will round out my study plan for the next 3-6 months.
ACI is my primary resource for all CompTIA certifications as well as a subscription to O'reilly bookshelf. Also taking advantage of AntiSyphon's pay-what-you-can training (fantastic!!! Sat through Active defense and Cyber Deception this week and I can't wait to attend SOC core skills with John Strand next week).
Another note of THANKS to all the staff and instructors at ACI.
Somebody get Sophie a new laptop! I've watched her lid fill up with stickers over several courses and Technado episodes, and it's obvious this thing has seen it's days. (Get a Mac, Sophie, and join the dark side!) -
Looks like to me that you have a really good learning path going! I hope once you have your certs completed you'll easily find a job.
RE: Sophies laptop, as a helpdesk/sysadmin guy, that makes my heart hurt. Taking all of those stickers off is going to take A WHILE lol.
Have a good weekend!
