Virtual Lab Issue - no sound in VMs
-
Hello,
I am new to ITPro.tv, and am enjoying the courses. I really appreciate the verbal descriptions, since I have a severe visual impairment, which prevents me from understanding highly visual content.
Recently, I decided to look into the virtual labs feature of the site, and ran into an issue. The virtual machines don't seem to be capable of generating audio. This means that I am unable to utilize accessibility features, such as Microsoft Narrator in the lab environment. This has the effect of making all virtual labs unusable in my case.
I am not aware of the type of environment being used, but is there any possibility that these virtual machines could be made to have a virtual sound card? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Dane

We've have this feature requested before and unfortunately it's not possible with our current lab platform. It is on our wish list for when the time comes to move to a new vLab delivery system. The main issue is with the servers. We've tried to kludge some audio into the desktop OS's, but even if it worked, the vLabs would only be half useful for accessibility, since the vLabs consist of servers and desktop OS's.
