"New" New layout
-
I am starting this thread to post some feedback on the new layout that is about to be introduced.
The recent additions the site are AWESOME, all the stuff in the
"New Features Released" thread is a perfect compliment to the awesome website and great content you produce.
BUT, remember, better is the enemy of good - I had a chance to preview a 'NEW'er not-yet-public layout of the site. While it clearly was a pre-production version with a few bugs that surely can be ironed out, I am at a loss to understand WHY the change is coming.
I am petitioning for itpro.tv to keep following the TWIT / Windows Weekly model like you have been (I think you have been?). What I mean by that is avoid the needles change for the sake of change.
We already use Gmail and other web services that seem to move buttons around and change things every other week. Seems like every time you log in there is a new layout, tour and a bunch of extra useless gimmicky things in the way of sending an email.
You are a TV channel a content provider, an educator. People subscribe to see YOU because we appreciate the great CONTENT you provide, not because we think your website looks cool.
Let's keep it that way.
Cheers.

Point taken.
I appreciate you comments, and I hear you. We are listening.
There have been "many" support request for features that we rolled out in our new site, and we try to give all of our subscribers what they want when we can do it.
Very soon, I am rolling out an Advisory Panel of subscribers, that anyone subscriber can join and we will have surveys, early demos, maybe calls to participate so we can clearly understand how all the users use ITProTV, what their intent is, what features you want, what do we NOT want to change.
While we are listening now, We WANT to listen MORE!
thanks for your comments, I hope you will plan to participate in the advisory panel, and let us know how we can continue to be better!
Thanks!
Tim
