I would like to echo quite a bit that has already been stated here. I was only able to catch one broadcast live, and enjoyed watching the discussion online as well as the actual lesson. The course surprised me with both how much I already knew and with how much I didn't know. That tells me it was the perfect class for me. This being said, I would be no where near ready to take the exam now, but will probably take it eventually.

Also, I said it in that specific thread already, but I must thank Michela once again for compiling the links as she did. That was a tremendous help. There were many times that it was mentioned that Mike was putting links in the discussion, but I have not tracked down a Q&A thread with those in there yet.

@Ken-Schuerman Good question.... I'd be very interested in hearing a response to this. I'd also like to suggest that perhaps ITPro could get an attorney to do a few episodes... Not just for CEH, but perhaps just IT in general? This would be beneficial to those that do independent contracting.

CEH is a live stream that is currently happening right now. Regardless of whether you're pursuing the certification, the current show will at least introduce you to the tools and technology you're talking about.

I was talking to Sean Oriyano about this yesterday, The show covers alot of the tools you're mentioning, so it's a good starting place.

? = Loopback - 1st Number = 127 - Starts with 01111111
B = N.N.H.H - 1st Number = 128-191 - Starts with 10 65,534 Usable IPs
C = N.N.N.H - 1st Number = 192-223 - Starts with 110 254 Usable IPs
D = ?.?.?.? - 1st Number = 224-239 - Starts with 1110
E = ?.?.?.? - 1st Number = 240-254 - Starts with 11110
In the early days of networking, there probably was a reason for this. It's too perfect to be an accident. Remember that the computers don't see the decimal numbers and they don't see the dots, they just see a stream of binary digits. What we see as 192.168.1.100, the machine sees as: 11000000101010000000000101100100
So 25 years ago some very expensive yet underpowered system could look at this address flying by and when it sees the "110" at the front, it knows how to treat this, even without a subnet mask.

We had Security Kung-Fu Master, Adam Gordon who hosted the CISSP episodes. He was involved in the development of the new objectives for CISSP. He has stated that his presentation included the material that would cover the new objectives too. But because ISC2 hadn't yet officially published them. ITProTV didn't present it in the new objetive order. So the material is integrated in the current show from our current understanding.
We're also contacting Adam to see if the new objectives includes anything new that wasn't covered during the time of the recording. If so, we will add what is missing to our content to make sure we get the coverage for the newer objectives.

Our courses follow the official exam objectives put out by the vendor or certification organization. We are not allowed to use any other material as the basis of the way we deliver our courses. Most content writers follow a logical development from concepts that you must know and build on so that the material you learn builds up so that the more complex material is near the end. We though, not being book writers we chose the straight forward exam objectives to follow.
So you can use your study material and turn to that section as we go through our material on ITProTV or you can use ITProTV content to supplement the study material you've got on hand!
