Office 2019
-
I was wondering if there was an option to just click to run Office 2019 instead of completely installing it?
-
What is it that you're trying to accomplish? so that I understand what can or cannot be done?
-
@Ronnie-Wong Just looking to run only an Office 2019 application and not install.
We need this for testing purposes.
-
@Waqkas-Ahmed
you can try this.

@Ronnie-Wong That looks like it installs the full version via xml.
Was looking for a MSI or something similar

"The Office Deployment Tool (ODT) is a command-line tool that you can use to download and deploy Click-to-Run versions of Office, such as Office 365 ProPlus, to your client computers."
-
@Ronnie-Wong do you know what I will need to edit n the XML file to achieve this please?

Yes...OK...comment out every other app you do not want to install.
if testing this should lead the way. -
Currently it looks like this;
<Configuration> <Add OfficeClientEdition="64" Channel="Monthly"> <Product ID="O365BusinessRetail"> <Language ID="en-us" /> </Product> <!-- <Updates Enabled="TRUE" Channel="Monthly" /> --> <!-- <Display Level="None" AcceptEULA="TRUE" /> --> <!-- <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="1" /> --> </Configuration>
Do I just edit the Product ID= and the OfficeCientEdition?

I think you will have to create your own XML file.
Use this to help--note the section on "which apps to install"
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/office2019/deploy -
@Ronnie-Wong Sorry but still not too sure where the Click to Run option will be so it doesn't install but run only?
-
You will have to be licensed for the click to run version. So check with the Volume License center for your office 2019 version.
try the following link:

Nothing really for creating a portable version. The ones on the list just install directly.
-
This goes back to purpose again. Your reported goal was for testing, I didn't know what your end goal was--portability.
You may have to go 3rd party like. But not a recommendation. : https://thehouseofportable.com/2459/microsoft-office-2019-portable/
-
@Ronnie-Wong It's still for testing but will be used as if it's portable. Because currently everything I've tried just installs the full version on the PC and just not run only.
-
Any Ideas on this?

If you've exhausted all the documentable ways. It usually means you will not be able to do something. Or if you do, it may cause unintended and unsupportable results from Microsoft. My recommendation is that you do not try to do this if any of the options previously mentioned do not work to provide you with your intended result.
