It seems like the only thing you need to watch out for is the PPKG file must be in the ROOT of the USB drive. It is not going to work if the file is inside any folder structure.

@Robert-Neal Did you check on that GPO. Is it a pre-requisite? Most of our computers are listed as "Microsoft Entra registered" and I don't know if we need to switch them to hybrid join first so the GPO isn't needed, or if we need both hybrid and on-premises GPO. Everyone will have to come back to work.

I know I can add them manually with the Company Portal but we are trying to automate this.

Thanks @wes-bryan I am also trying to follow your videos on how to use Intune. I also want to add that based on the information provided, since the certificate is not an intermediate. Microsoft Intune policy might not be the right way to go. I'm trying to install a 3rd party public certificate for windows not to question this app every time they opened.

If there is shared storage that clustering servers use. it could be that it didn't attach immediately when that server came back up and the VMs are on the shared storage, it might be why they disppeared from the rebooted server. "When I tried to import the cluster I got an error that I did not have permissions." You might have to be the Hyper-V administrator or cluster admin etc and not just a local administrator. I'm not sure how the servers are in cluster but also standalone servers. Sorry, you terminology may be confusing me. I would check error logs, that would give you more of a clue of when things locked up and possibly why it did.

Hey @Alwatheq-Bellah-Zboun, great question. I would recommend creating an Azure tenant (yourcompany.onmicrosoft.com), and use this as a test bed. If you create a tenant, Microsoft will give you $200 credit to use in Azure. If you are diligent and use lower cost compute, storage and networking as well as scrubbing the environment (delete all resources) on a daily basis you will be able get hands on practice with a lot of the Azure platform. So to answer your question #1. I don't know. The reason is that I've never known any group that I've worked with or otherwise to continue to use the "onmicrosoft.com" past the initial setup and configuration. Most that I've dealt with in the past, getting the email to be seamless handover was key and fundamental instead of waiting. So I'm not sure whether it will work. I'm fairly certain that if it does, rest assured you'll probably get a notification of something like...if you proceed...either you'll see this can be changed later or that is permanent and non-reversible before clicking next.

So on Question #2, It wouldn't affect if people are using the onmicrosoft.com already to access sharepoint or email. If they're not, and currently using your regular domain name, then yes, it could effect them. I do not have any experience like I said of not changing the domain name and go through more setup as the default domain.

@Robert-Moore glad to hear you got it fixed!

Note: I ended up resolving the issue by dropping the SSD into a different laptop, doing the reimage (which went through), and then putting the SSD back in the original laptop. Not sure why it worked in a different laptop, but it worked nonetheless.

I'm not sure if there is anything specific in our catalog regarding this specific topic. In a live environment, you may want to explore mapping network drives in group policy.
