Question For Jo Peacock re Certification Advice
-
Good morning Jo,
I recently completed the ITIL v4 Foundation course and passed the ITIL v4 Foundation exam. I found your course to be relevant, informative, and entertaining. The delivery and materials were outstanding. Thank you.
My goal is to obtain the ITIL v4 Master, and EXIN DevOps Master certifications. While I wait for the other ITIL v4 exams and courses to be released I have decided to obtain the EXIN DevOps Professional certification. I would also like a solid grounding in Lean and Agile. Should I be looking at the Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Project Management courses or are there other courses and certifications I should consider?
Any advice you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi Ralph,
Congratulations on your ITIL4 Foundation result!! Thank you ever so much for the feedback too.
The ITIL4 qualifications will continue to be "drip-fed" over the next 6-9 months, with the first release at the beginning of October for the ITIL Expert "bridge". If you already have an ITIL 3 (2011) Expert qualification you will be eligible for this course. Further modules will be available from November.
My advice on a career path would be to start with DevOps Foundation and then the Agile Foundation courses / exams. From there you can build to Agile Scrum Master (not a huge jump from the Foundation) and the DevOps Professional certifications.
In order to take the DevOps Professional exam you will need to take the DevOps Foundation qualification 1st.
Lean looks at process improvement, and will be useful to you in your career, however in order to define and improve a process you have to 1st understand the processes you require. This is where ITIL and Agile experience is required. I would recommend looking at Lean after you have gained accreditation with the other qualifications.
Good luck with your qualification path, and please let me know if I can help with anything!
Jo
