New expiration policy?
-
I just wanted to double check the new VMware certification expiration policy. It appears that the 2 yr expiration has been removed. I recall originally getting my VCP 6 cert, I had to attend a paid course and complete a pre-test before I could sit for the actual exam. Has all that been removed now? I can take my time taking VCP 6.7 for example? Even though I last certified on 6.5 back in Nov 2017? See screenshot from my cert panel.

Adam,
I hope all is well. The easiest way to address this is to point you to the VCP Recertification FAQ. Please take a look at the following:
Hope that helps to answer all the questions that you may have.

Thanks Adam.. If I am reading this right, my VCP6.5 cert is good for quite a while. One question though. The FAQ mentions VCP-DCV-2019.. So is the cert no longer specific to versions? Based on year or...?

Adam,
Yes, that is correct, VMware has started to label there certifications using a "year" identifier to indicate when the certification was awarded. So going forward, you would get a VCP-DCV-2020 if you chose to renew/acquire the certification during the 2020 year.
Cheers,
Adam
