ITIL 4 Intermediate Level courses - question to Jo Peacock
-
Hi Robert,
In a studio environment we are at the mercy of many variables including weather (which affects our ability to record in the studio) and technology. Whilst we may utilise partner course material in some courses, we also have to create our own and submit for accreditation. Irrespective of the training material used, we have to ensure that all of the materials are modified for screen optimisation and accessibility laws.
All of these elements introduce a variance which makes it difficult for us to pinpoint an exact date for release. We estimate as best as we can, but we're not able to provide an exact date.
Thanks very much

Hello Jo,
Appreciate your response. I don't understand the process but I am sure the modules are time consuming and require many resources. Can you provide general guidance in the near-term by the month and farther out by quarter / biannual? It would be helpful to get a sense on the release dates for certification timing since a course is required.
Thanks,

Hi Robert,
At the moment I'm in the process of recording the ITIL Create, Deliver, & Support module and around 8 episodes in (so around 2.5hrs into the course).
To give you an example of the challenges we face with prediction today I recorded 2 episodes and then a technical issue stopped recording and we've had to reschedule recording for tomorrow. Today's progress was 2 x 20 minute episodes. If we continue at that rate a 21 hour course takes 32 days to complete. On the flip side, some days we can complete 5-6 episodes in a day.
Following completion, with most courses we then have to submit for accreditation. You can probably estimate an accredited course taking 2-3 months form start to completion. Working in this environment you certainly can understand how some movies go vastly over budget!
I can tell you that the CDS course is in progress, but it is going to take 5-6 weeks minimum to record, at the current rate.
We do release all episodes as they are recorded with an "in production" flag. This means that they will appear in the library, but the downloadable material will not be in any folder until after accreditation.
Thanks very much

Hi Guys,
The ITIL CDS is now available in our course library for you with DPI currently in production. I agree with you completely @Francois-Jean-Thomas-Clemence-Baton, SSV is very intriguing and I'm looking forward to getting into the customer experience and analysis in a lot more depth!
Keep checking our library, we'll have the content available for you as soon as we can!

Thanks for this update @Jo-Peacock ! I just completed your CDS course and am planning to sit this exam this Saturday morning (fingers crossed). I appreciate the update on DPI. I was about to purchase self paced training with a different provider, but knowing it's coming down the pipe, I think I can wait.
I've also watched your ITIL v4 Foundations and v3 OSA course. I appreciate your take on ITIL and the various modules, as well as practical application.

Good luck with the exam on Saturday @Dru-Yamagiwa!
ITIL DPI should start appearing in our library within the next couple of weeks. It will appear episode by episode and will show with an "in production flag" which is removed once everything is finalised and all of the resources are available for you. With "in production" courses, not all of the learner resources are available, but you're still able to view the episodes as they're published.
