Run CentOS 8 on Google Cloud
-
Hello,
I am taking a class this semester on Linux Essentials, which follows the LPIC Essentials exam. This question is not in regards to an assignment, but I am trying to get some Linux VMs up and running to experiment with.
I currently have Ubuntu 20.04 LTS up and running on Google Cloud. I access it using the remotedesktop.google.com website. White that works great for Ubuntu and any Debian based Linux distributions, I am having a hard time getting it to work on CentOS 8. I suspect I will have the same issues with Redhat.
Do you know of any resources which will explain how to get CentOS 8 working on GCP? While we will learn the command line, I still would like access to a GUI if at all possible.
Thank you,
Chris

Are you getting any error messages you can share with us?
Can you share the VM instance details?

Hello Ronnie,
I opted out of using CentOS for the time being, at least through Google Cloud. I purchased an 8 GB Raspberry Pi 4 device and have been using different SD cards, each with its own Linux distribution. It's worked over very nicely!
Thanks for your help,
Chris
