Where to start training for CCNA
-
Hello I am new to the self study environment and haven't have much a clue on how to start training for the CCNA exam. I have taken some physical classes after high school that gave us labs and homework to do each week, but now I would like to make sure I am prepared and would like a whole refresh on CCNA training. What are the right steps to complete the course/materials provided by ITProTV. Watch videos first, compete labs and then compete practice test for each section... etc? Sorry I am new to self learning.

First you want to do a search for Cisco Exam 200-301. Find the objectives and download them. Print them out.
Mark each topic from 1 to 5 - 1=not familiar, 5=I could discuss this topic intelligently and confidently.
Create a study plan for 1 1/2 hrs per day. Divide that into 3 sections: Two, 15 minutes for topics you've marked as 5 and 1 hr topic you've marked with 1-4. You will take 15 minutes 1st, review a 5 topic. 1hr to study a 1-4 topic, and end with 15 minutes to review another 5 topic. Do this daily, do not skip a day.
You can study using ITProTV content, web searches, blogs and books (which you will have to purchase. You can post questions here in the forum to get help from myself or other ITProTV members.
If you're rusty, I recommend you find in the course section,
Legacy
, look for CCENT (2018). This is a full 38 hr review of all networking fundamental before you take the CCNA. If you look at the topics and feel good, then head over toCisco
and begin studying with CCNA 200-301 series. The study progress depends on what you would do as a individual. I gave you the way I would setup a study plan above. this way, each study session always begins and ends with a "win". Gives you. plenty of time to study harder topics. There is no magical path formula through the course. I recorded them in the order I thought was a correct way to tackle the content, assuming you had the prerequisite knowledge.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.
