PMP/CAPM

Hello,
I am wondering if the PMP course, (which i've heard is similar to CAPM, just more in depth), will count towards the 23 hour project management education requirement to take the CAPM?

Hi Kathlyn,
You are correct in that the PMP goes into greater depth. Another distinguishing feature is the target audience. The PMP is intended to take working PMs to the next level and requires a fairly significant background in project management to qualify to sit the exam. The CAPM, on the other hand, is great for aspiring PMs or PMs who are getting started in their industry - the requirements to sit the exam are far less steep.https://www.pmi.org/certifications/project-management-pmp

The PMP course will count towards the CAPM. You will need a certificate of completion once you've finished just in case they audit your CAPM application. You'll want to put down: "Project Management Professional Prep - 2021" and ACI Learning as your provider. That should suffice for the application. Best wishes on CAPM!
