PMP Certification Maintenance

Are ITProTV project management courses such as Agile and Scrum (and others) eligible to be counted as the PDU credits required for PMP re-certification? I do not see where PMI prohibits any training source. PMI says to use our best judgment when classifying training to specific PMI Talent Triangles.

There is a path of self-study where many ITProTV courses can fit in. The candidate would need to submit the registration form, certificate of completion, and record of attendance, clearly identifying which of the three legs of the PMI triangle it addressed: leadership, technical, or strategic and business management (use your best judgment).
As an example, the learner might choose to resit a PMP course as a refresher. This process could be applied to any course across our catalogs that supported the triangle. So, another example, if they need 12 PDUs, they could watch our Six Sigma Yellow belt course in ITProTV - just be certain the hours match closely. Misrepresenting PDU hours is a surefire way to lose your certification.
Here's how it would break down:
The person will have to fill out the PDU submission form at PMI's website. https://my.pmi.org

They would put down the name of the class, number of hours (typically one PDU per training hour). They will also have to identify whether the PDUs are Strategic, Leadership, or Technical. A PMP class will be about 35-40 PDUs if it's a full week bootcamp class. I would say that the amount per each category would be primarily Technical (half) and then the remaining half divided between Strategic and Leadership (25% each)
Area 1: Technical Project Management. This area that most people associate with project management activities. Examples of the topics covered by this area include:
Requirements management
Time, budget and cost estimation
Data gathering and modeling
Earned value managementArea 2: Strategic Business Management. To plan and execute their projects, project professionals need to understand management. These skills will also help you better understand the needs of other stakeholders such as finance, operations, and sales. Examples of the topics covered by this area include:
Legal and regulatory compliance
Industry knowledge and standards
Benefits management and realization
Customer relationship and satisfactionArea 3: Leadership Skills. The best project plan and schedule have no value if the project team is disengaged or disinterested. Motivating the project team to achieve success comes down to leadership. If you are interested in program management and other leadership roles, leadership should be a focus for you. Examples of the topics covered by this area include:
Influencing
Emotional intelligence
Brainstorming

I read much of the material you posted, but I was l still unsure whether I could use courses outside of PMI to count as PDUs. Thank you for your explanations and for confirming ITProTV as a valid continuing ed course for PMI. I am much appreciated!
I take advantage of the certificates of completion that ITProTV provides. I have used ITProTV courses for continuing education requirements to renew my ISC2, CompTIA, and EC-Council certifications. I think I will take the SCRUM courses next to count toward the PDU requirements. It looks like I would enter ITProTV courses under the Online or Digital Content section. I wish I could use ITProTV to renew Cisco Certifications
Thank you, Ashley!
