When we originally stood up our Exchange 2013 Environment we were sold the Enterprise version of the Server license, even though at the time we had no need for more than 2 mailbox databases. I am considering setting up a database availability group at our DR site and want to know if I can purchase Exchange server 2013 Standard or if I have to match Exchange 2013 Enterprise.

Sorry this one slipped by me. The licensing is tied to the mailboxes, technically. So here's the deal. Even though you enter the license on the servers. It's depends on where that mailbox database gets stored. If you're moving that database between servers, then you should match them. This is currently based on an honor system for your business.
