Update/reset password on Apple

Is it possible for an end user to update/change their AD password while using a Mac? We do have AD running that syncs to GADS but most of our machines are Apple. At this pint, the end user contacts the help desk to change their password and that will in-turn sync and update their google password. Thank you for any insight you may have

If their Mac is joined to the network, yes.

They can access System Preferences > Users & Groups > Select their account.

On the right side of that dialog box they can choose Change Password

They will type their current password, then their new password, then confirm their new password and press enter...

Log out. Log back in.

That should do it.
