Thank you for your comment and time.I found a U Tube that explains the process and it can only be done though the server, as you thought.
I just jumped into this certification process without any experience and just basic knowledge of the Mac. The cool thing while trying to understand Netinstall, I checked out Iceberg and it didn't seem to work as I hoped it would, it kept crashing. I downloaded Packages, was able to build packages for my Mac, run it and it worked!! On to the next discovery.

We're waiting on Apple to release the NEW exam objectives but we will begin content recording in January 2015 but we will not be completing it until the exam objectives are updated, finalized. So, you can begin to look for Apple content in January 2015.

Our original plan was to record ACSP this week. However, we postponed the show a few weeks ago after Apple announced that they would be releasing OS X 10.10 Yosemite at the end of this month. Some of our viewers suggested waiting and we agreed. It was decided that it would be better to wait and shoot the course with the new 10.10 software, than to shoot with 10.9 and have to re-record it. Apple should have the new exam objectives released shortly and we will commence taping as soon as that happens. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for watching.

That's pretty much it. If you replace your drive every three years like the manufacturers expect you to, then it is an issue not worth worrying about.

The main reason I do that is out of habit. Only EFI systems support booting from GPT partitioned drives. If you stick with MBR then you can boot from EFI and non-EFI systems. So that is why I generally stick with it. If your system supports EFI (like most modern Macs do) then you can go GPT without worries. Either way, there is not a lot of benefit to using GPT on a USB device. You won't likely be able to use any of the SecureBoot features and very few people exceed the partition limit imposed on MBR devices. The exception would be if you had a USB drive over 2TB in size and you wanted a single partition.
